Morrison was a Scotchman, originally from Glasgow, who made musical instruments and pianos in Buffalo, New York, as early as 1811. He is cited by the author as an early example of piano production spreading to the northern cities of New York State before 1820, predating the more significant Buffalo makers Kurtzman and D.
