Biography
Mr. Karr joined the piano firm founded by the Bacon family in 1871, when it became Bacon & Karr, following the dissolution of Raven & Bacon. He left the firm in 1880, after which the Francis Bacon piano brand was introduced. At the time of writing, Karr was superintendent of the F. G. Smith piano factory. Karr served as shop superintendent of the Bradbury piano business under F. Smith, who otherwise directed the firm's overall business policy. The Bradbury piano was said to be reaching a higher standard of improvement each year under Karr's charge of the shop.
