Biography
Oscar Laffert, described by Dolge as "versatile," was an acquaintance Paul de Wit made through the Leipsic music publisher C. F. Kahnt. In 1880 the two men jointly founded "Die Zeitschrift für Instrumentenbau," a trade journal serving the German music industry; Laffert retired from the partnership in 1886, leaving de Wit sole proprietor of the publication.
