Biography
Richard Poehlmann was the son of Moritz Poehlmann, the pioneering manufacturer of cast steel music wire. Following his father's death on March 26, 1902, Richard Poehlmann carried on the family wire-manufacturing business, continuing the international reputation it had built for German piano wire since the Paris Exposition of 1867.
