Biography
Robert Hannemann revised the "Lehrbuch des Pianofortebaues" by Julius Blüthner and Heinrich Gretschel for its 1909 edition, published in Leipsic by Bernh. Friedr. Voigt. The volume, originally issued in 1872, offered German-reading piano makers detailed guidance on piano construction and on the materials, tools and machinery used in manufacturing, along with a short essay on acoustics by Dr. Walter Niemann, who also contributed a history of the piano up to the introduction of the iron frame.
