superintendent
Biography
Rudolf Patzschke, a grandson of F. W. Patzschke who originated the tapered-felt process for piano hammers, succeeded his own father as superintendent of the extensive Weickert felt works at Wurzen, near Leipsic. The text presents his tenure as part of a pattern in which three generations of Patzschkes provided the technical management underlying three generations of Weickert commercial leadership, a partnership it credits as key to the firm's sustained success.
