Biography
Shaw is named by Spillane among the piano-makers who came over from London following the establishment of British diplomatic relations with the United States, alongside the Geibs and John Montgomery. Spillane notes that Shaw is discussed at greater length elsewhere in the book's treatment of Boston's piano trade. Shaw was, together with an associate named Mallet, a competitor whose success Spillane cites as having accidentally contributed to the collapse of Crehore's independent piano business in the Boston area. No further detail about Shaw is given in the text.
