Snyder

inventor
  • Staib-Abendschein Company

Biography

Snyder was an inventor employed for two years in the shops of the Staib-Abendschein Company to solve the problem of a positive, never-failing repetition mechanism for upright piano actions. Described as an ingenious man, he made considerable headway on the problem but finally gave up in despair of ever achieving the sought-after result. Staib and Abendschein, judging that Snyder had come very near the goal, went on to apply their own scientific and practical knowledge to complete the work, resulting in the patented "Mastertouch" repeating action.
