Biography
Thomas Broadwood, son of John Broadwood, joined the family firm in 1808, at which point it was renamed John Broadwood & Sons (from John Broadwood & Son, reflecting the earlier admission of his brother James). The text separately records a Thomas Broadwood becoming a partner in 1843 together with Walter Stewart Broadwood; it does not clarify whether this is the same individual continuing in the firm decades later or a descendant of the same name.
