Thomas H. Chambers is identified in an 1848 advertisement in Watson's Musical Times as a pianoforte manufacturer at 385 Broadway, New York, formerly conductor of the firm Dubois & Stodart. This notice provides Spillane a partial link between Chambers and his earlier association with Dubois & Stodart.
