Biography
William A. Pond was a partner in the New York firm of Firth, Pond & Company, formed in 1847 alongside John Firth, Sylvanus B. Pond, and Thaddeus Firth. He went on to found W. A. Pond & Company, the successor to the original Firth & Hall house, from which the later firm of Pond & Company descended.
