Biography
W. Vincent Wallace, the Irish composer, was at the time a resident of New York. He is named as one of the distinguished members of the New York Mechanics' Institute exhibition committee of 1853 that awarded a gold medal to a Hallet, Davis & Company grand piano, whose points of excellence, the text says, elicited warm commendation from the judges.
