Biography
Walter Shriver was the son of foundry pioneer Thomas Shriver. After his father relocated from Philadelphia to New York, the two established together a foundry for fine castings and piano plates, which grew into the firm of T. Shriver & Company, for years the preeminent piano-plate foundry in the United States before losing ground to newer competitors such as Davenport & Treacy in the decade before 1890. No further biographical detail is given.
