Willard A. Vose
Biography
Willard A. Vose was the eldest son of James Whiting Vose, founder of the Vose & Sons piano firm in Boston. After his father's retirement from the presidency of the Vose & Sons' Piano Company, Willard succeeded him as president and manager, and Dolge credits him with marked ability in maintaining and improving the distinguished standing of the Vose piano. No dates or further individual biographical detail are given for Willard beyond his succession to leadership of the family firm. From Spillane (1890): Willard A. Vose, born in 1852, was one of the sons of J. W. Vose making up the firm of Vose & Sons, described as a practical piano maker and a graduate of good educational institutions in Boston.
