Biography
William F. Braun was born in Jersey City in 1856. He entered the employ of Hotopp & Company in January 1872 and, through ability and business courtesy, worked his way up to the position of head salesman. In November 1887 his services were recognized with a membership and share in the firm. Braun managed the outside business and financial department of Hotopp & Company, and, being practically acquainted with varnish-making and the qualities required for piano use, was noted as a principal source of information on the firm's business and history.
