Biography
William M. Goodrich began as an organ-builder in Chamber Street, Boston, in 1808. By 1822 he had expanded into piano manufacturing at 81 Market Street, and he became known in that branch of the trade around 1827. In 1828 he exhibited one of his piano instruments at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, though it attracted no particular notice.
