Yuji Nakamura is an Australasian Registered Piano Technician (A.R.P.T.) recognized by Piano Tuners and Technicians Guild of New Zealand Inc (PTTGNZ). He joined the Guild in 1999 and has been a member of the Australasian Piano Tuners and Technicians Association Inc. (APTTA). Yuji began training as a piano tuner/technician with Yamaha Corporation in 1982, gaining experience in piano manufacturing and advanced techniques at concert piano factories. He worked as a concert tuner and technician in Tokyo, then in technical support for Yamaha's Hokkaido branch. In 1993, he joined the Hokkaido Music Academy as a trainer and later became chief instructor. He moved to New Zealand in 1999, working for Jenkin Piano Service while tuning for private customers, recording studios, and concert venues in Auckland. He also contributed articles on touch weight and inertia to the Piano Technicians Journal and conducted seminars globally. Yuji lives in Titirangi, West Auckland, with his wife, and enjoys New Zealand's native scenery.
