The name of Heppell has been synonymous with the North East piano industry since 1911, with three generations tuning and repairing the pianos of north east residents. Jack Heppell became an apprentice in 1911, founded the business in 1929, and was taken over by his son John Clifford Heppell in 1945. Lawrence Heppell (Cliff’s son) became the latest member of the family to follow in his elder’s footsteps in 1982.
