Nigel King Piano Tuner

I started my apprenticeship at Rushworth’s Music House in Liverpool in 1983. There I trained in piano repairs, restoration and tuning. In time I progressed to become their in-house piano tuner. In 1993, I began working for the Merseyside Piano Exchange, completing piano repairs, restoring pianos and tuning for both domestic customers and schools. I went freelance in 1997, where I worked closely with domestic customers in their homes, educational establishments such as schools and universities as well as concert halls and other music venues completing their piano tuning in preparation for practice sessions and events. I became a member of the Piano Tuners’ Association in 2003.
